The important role of the Taiwanese wind market for financing activities in the field of renewable energies in Asia is also reflected in the presentation of prestigious awards. In addition to the renowned „IJGlobal 2019 Asia Pacific Award“, wpd has now also received an award from PFI (Project Finance International) magazine for the Yunlin project in the category „Asia Pacific Renewable Deal of the Year“. The prize is considered the „Oscar“ of project finance and was presented in London on 5 February.
The Yunlin project is being realized off the west coast of Taiwan. After the first components for the construction of the foundations arrived in Taiwan at the end of last year, the start of construction of the monopiles is planned for April. The full commissioning of the wind farm with 80 turbines is planned for December 2021.
