The Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD wind turbine has been selected for the Yunlin project. This turbine model has a rotor diameter of 167 meters and a hub height of 87 meters and generates a rated power output of 8 MW. The 80 turbines will be installed in two phases.
Commissioning is planned to commence in the second half of 2020. The complete project will yield a total rated capacity of 640 MW.
